Dental care made easy
For clients with easy access to our clinic in Bristol, we recommend booking a appointment for a free dental health check-up as a first step. During this consultation, our vets and nurses can fully assess your pet's dental health and recommend the most appropriate course of action such as booking a Protect & Shine or Fix & Shine dental.

If you're based further away from our clinic we can still look after your pet's dental health, and to make life as easy as possible we offer a complete one day dental service.

Check & book
Dental-in-a-day

At Luna we believe that looking after your pet's teeth should be as easy and affordable as possible, and that's why we're committed not just to providing excellent dental services at low prices but also to making these services as easy as possible for pet owners to access.

To do this, we offer two simple ways to start your pet's dental health journey with Luna - Check & Book, or Dental-in-a-Day.
Book your FREE dental health consultation
Our vets and nurses assess your pet's dental health and check their general health
We schedule your pet's dental procedure for a convenient date
Chat to us on the phone or message over Whatsapp and we'll discuss your pet's dental issues and requirements, and get the appropriate dental-in-a-day booked in
Arrive at the clinic for a veterinary consultation first thing in the morning of their dental when our vet will give your pet a full health assessment and confirm details of their dental procedure
We carry out the dental the same day, and they are ready to head home by mid-afternoon

We love nothing better than a good chat about teeth, so to talk to us about your pet's dental health requirements, and how we can best help you, call the clinic on 0117 4500735 or message us on WhatsApp and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
Let's chat about your pet's teeth...

On the day
Whether you've taken the check & book route or dental-in-a-day, the process on the day of your pet's dental is the same:

1

Arrive for your scheduled pre-dental examination appointment which will either be with a nurse if you've previously had a veterinary appointment, or with a vet if it's the first time we've seen your pet
After your pet's health check, we settle them into their comfy accommodation for their stay, and get them ready for their dental with pre-op blood tests if required
Once our clinical team is ready, we administer their premed injection. This combination of sedative and pain relieving medications makes them drowsy and relaxed.

After they are fully sedated, we place their intravenous catheter and prepare them for their anaesthetic which is then administered by injection
As soon as they are safely asleep, and all the anaesthetic monitoring systems are up and running, the first step in all dentals is a full-mouth examination to assess the teeth and make a plan for the procedure
All dentals then start with a full scale and polish using an ultrasonic probe to remove all tartar and plaque from the teeth, both above and below the gum line, followed by a gentle polishing process to reduce the future build up of plaque
During this process, we check each tooth individually, and record any issues we find such as gum disease or damage to the toot

After the scale and polish is completed, for Fix & Shine dentals, our vets move on to take high definition X-rays of any teeth requiring extractions before carrying out the surgical extractions
Where extractions are carried out, dental flaps may be needed to access the tooth roots, and these are then carefully sutured closed at the end of the procedure
At the end of the dental, we gently reverse their anaesthesia and bring them around to recover under close supervision until they are fully awake
