How to use
Luna Plaque Protect Powder is added to wet or dry food once a day at the following dose rates:

Cats and small dogs (up to 10 kg) 1 scoop/day
Medium dogs (10-25 kg) 2 scoops/day
Large dogs (over 25 kg) 3 scoops/day
​
Directions for use:
Sprinkle the powder over the pet's food once a day with the supplied scoop.

How does Plaque Protect work?
Plaque Protect is absorbed from food and the active ingredients travel through the bloodstream to the salivary glands where they get to work on your pet’s teeth, disrupting the damaging microbial biofilm to reduce the build-up of plaque and tartar.
What does Plaque Protect contain?
Plaque Protect is made exclusively from dried and powdered Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed.
WHen will I see benefits?
Depending on the state of your pet’s teeth, and other dental hygiene measures such as brushing, positive effects are usually seen after between 3 to 6 weeks of daily usage.
Is Plaque Protect suitable for all cats and dogs?
Plaque Protect is suitable for healthy dogs and cats from 6 months of age. The only exception is for animals with thyroid problems as seaweed powder is naturally rich in iodine and this can interfere with the management of thyroid problems such as hypothyroidism in dogs or hyperthyroidism in cats.
How long can Plaque Protect be used for?
It is designed to be given daily on a long-term basis in accordance with the dosage instructions. The protective effects will continue while it is being given, and it is safe for continuous, life-long usage.
Does Plaque Protect interfere with any medications my pet might be taking?
With the exception of treatments for thyroid conditions, there are no known problematic interactions with other medications, so it is considered safe for use alongside all other medications. However, if you have any concerns about possible interactions, please check with your prescribing vet.

There is a significant body of scientific literature supporting the efficacy of Ascophyllum nodosum seaweed powder in managing dental health, including a placebo-controlled, double-blind, randomized study (designed according to evidence-based medicine standards) involving 60 dogs looking at the effect of 30-day administration of Ascophyllum on the saliva metabolomes and dental health outcomes.
