Luna is a UK veterinary practice group that does dentistry only, for dogs and cats. Every dental includes dental X-rays and charting, at a fixed, all-inclusive price. A dental health check is free and needs no referral.

  • Protect & Shine — £290, all-inclusive, fixed price: A full routine dental hygiene procedure including ultrasonic descaling, polishing, dental X-rays and charting under routine general anaesthetic.
  • Fix & Shine — £690, all-inclusive, fixed price: For dogs and cats requiring multiple dental extractions, the Luna Fix & Shine dental includes 90 minutes of veterinary dental surgery as well as a full scale and polish.
  • Restore & Shine — £1,290, Restore & Shine Plus £1,690 · carried out at Luna Reading: Advanced restorative dental care for dogs and cats, including root canal and vital pulp therapies, full mouth extractions and more.

How do I book my pet's dental?

Travelling to Luna

We see a lot of clients who don't live near our clinics, and people driving 2 hours or more to see us is not at all unusual.

To help make this as easy as possible, we offer our Dental-in-a-day service where we do everything on the same day so you can arrive in the morning and be home in the evening with your pet's teeth sparkly and healthy. We even have late admission slots at 10:30 so you don't need to leave home at the crack of dawn.

Once you book in, we'll give you a call to discuss arrangements for the day, and we can make sure everything is planned to fit in with your travel plans.

Are there any hidden extra costs?

No — we're always very clear and transparent about our pricing so you'll never be faced with any unexpected extra costs at the end of the day. Our Protect & Shine and Fix & Shine dentals are all-inclusive, with no extra charges for consultations, follow-up care or pain relief medications.

The only extras are pre-op bloods, which are advised (but optional) for dogs and cats of 8 years or older, and antibiotics, which are only rarely required.

Why Luna and not my usual vet?

Traditional vets are amazing, dealing with all sorts of health problems and doing a wonderful job of looking after your pet's health and wellbeing. However, most traditional vets are general practitioners and don't have the time to focus on specific areas of health such as dentistry.

At Luna, all we do is dentistry, so our vets and nurses are incredibly experienced and skilled in all aspects of veterinary dental care as it's what we live and breathe. And because that's all we do, we can keep our costs down because we don't have all the other overheads a traditional practice has to cover.

What is staged dentistry?

Staged dentistry is when a pet requires more than one dental procedure to deal with all of their clinical needs. This is uncommon, and only required for the most complex or extensive dentals requiring multiple complex extractions.

If we think your pet will need a follow up dental procedure, we will discuss this at the time of their dental and make sure you're fully informed before we plan a second dental.

How does the Dental Health Club work?

The Luna Dental Health Club is for keeping a healthy mouth healthy. Sign-up starts with a quick photo check of your pet's teeth: if they need treatment first, we book the dental they need, and the Club keeps them healthy afterwards.

Luna's products arrive each month at a member price. The care at Luna, the nurse consultations and the Protect & Shine dentals, is paid with Sparkle Points: each is worth £1, you get one free for every ten you buy, and they build up in your pet's wallet each month so the dental is paid for when it is due.

Points can be spent on any Luna service, all of a visit or part of it, and in the shop, for 36 months after they land. You can add extra points each month to save for the unexpected, top up once, or pause for a while.
